1. Nature of the Service
Niagara Falls Residents Directory is a privately run reference. It describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections associated with Niagara Falls, New York. It does not host government records and has no connection with an office, court, or record custodian.
2. Permitted Use
Use the service only for a lawful purpose. You may not use it, or information reached through it, to:
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
- Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
- Commit identity theft or fraud
- Make FCRA-regulated decisions (credit, employment, tenant, insurance)
- Scrape, copy, or republish the site's content at scale
- Interfere with the site's operation or security
3. No Consumer Reporting Service
This service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Neither its content nor a linked-tool result is a consumer report, and neither may be used to evaluate eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-regulated purpose.
4. Third-Party Links
Government portals and outside services, including sponsored search tools, set their own terms and privacy practices. We do not control their content, availability, prices, or handling of data.
5. No Warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties. We do not promise that site information is accurate, complete, or current, or that an outside portal will operate or produce a correct result.
6. Limits of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages related to use of this service or a linked resource, including decisions based on a record.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold the service operators harmless from claims or demands, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, caused by misuse of the service or a violation of these terms.
8. Intellectual Property
The original text, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Links and brief attributed quotations are welcome, but full-page republication or systematic copying is not permitted.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these terms by publishing an updated version here. Use after a revision constitutes acceptance.
10. Restricting Access
We may restrict or block a user who breaches these terms or misuses the service, at our discretion and without advance notice.
11. Governing Law
New York law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. New York Freedom of Information Law access is governed by Public Officers Law Article 6, §§84–90; that law controls a custodian’s records, not this private service.
12. Severability
If a provision of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
